Information System (IS) Development, Information Assurance (IA), and Information Technology (IT) Support

Work Performed:
Radiance provided Information System, Information Technology and Information Assurance support for components of the Deployable Joint Command and Control (DJC2) Program. Radiance provided Information System and Information Technology support for the Joint Forces Collaborative Information Environment (CIE), Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J), and the associated servers software and hardware. This included Windows 2000 and 2003 servers on Hewlett Packard DL-360 series hardware and Sun Solaris running on Sun hardware each with all associated mass storage devices.

In support of early design, development, and integration, Radiance supported the transition from a physical server infrastructure to a Virtual server infrastructure using the VMware ESX server products. These products included VMware Virtual Infrastructure Management and all associated security Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) and Standard Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) to secure the network enclave. Radiance developed the Layer 3 diagram and supported the integration of all components into the final product for Systems 3 and 4 for delivery to the Regional Combat Commander (RCC).

Radiance supported DJC2 Information Assurance (IA) design including firewalls, network and host based instruction detection systems. Radiance developed standard operating procedures (SOP) for the management of the IA assets including the Cisco CSA agent for all servers, Intrusion Detection System Module configurations and updates, assisting the software integrators with IAVA, STIG and patch management throughout the system.

Functional Area Lead: 
Ms. Melanie Persons, Software Analysis, T&E Team Lead, has a MBA, and over 5 years experience. As Test and Evaluation Lead (T&E), Ms. Persons is responsible for technical task management for T&E of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Collaboration (C5) systems. Ms. Persons has been the Radiance team lead for System Operations Verifications Testing, First Article Acceptance Testing, and Factory Acceptance Test for DJC2 Systems 2, 3, and 4. Ms. Persons serves as tester that writes the test and executes the test for the Collaborative Information Environment (CIE) and remote telemetry systems of DJC2.
