Small, Lightweight, Tough, Powerful. WeaponWatch integrates its tiny ~4 pound, 7.5” x 2.6” x 4.75” processor with a ~5 pound, 6.5” x 2.75” x 4.75” camera. The sealed and cooled processor enclosure withstands desert heat, blowing sand, forced water and prolonged exposure to moisture. |

Detecting and
Responding to
Enemy
Weapon Fire at the Speed of Light
WeaponWatch provides the most capable, reliable and flexible weapon detection and response system available. Developed by Radiance Technologies, WeaponWatch provides a complete solution that detects, locates, classifies and responds to fired weapons from fixed and rotary wing aircraft, UAVs, ground vehicles, towers and tripods.
Employing a powerful infrared camera and high-speed 5th generation data processing technology, WeaponWatch recognizes and analyzes in real time the heat signatures of fired weapons. WeaponWatch’s speed and accuracy make it possible to detect and respond to enemy weapon fire—by alerting soldiers, by communicating the type and location of the weapon, even by returning fire—before the sound of the enemy weapon reaches the sensor.
Unlike acoustic weapon detection systems, WeaponWatch excels in detecting weapons fired in any direction, in urban environments, while the sensor is “on-the-move,” and at long range.
Small, Lightweight, Tough Powerful.
WeaponWatch: The Complete Solution |
Detects
weapon fire in real time day or night across a superwide field of view. Sensors may be stationary or “on-the-move.” WeaponWatch can identify individual weapons amid simultaneous fire from dozens of weapons. |
Classifies
fired weapons by referencing a comprehensive database of weapon fire signature algorithms.
|
Locates
fired weapons by translating azimuth, elevation and range to actionable geolocation coordinates. WeaponWatch integrates with the platform's guidance system to adjust for velocity and aspect. |
Responds
instantaneously by communicating the detected weapon’s type and geolocation, cuing integrated sensors, weapons and other systems while transmitting detection and response event data to command and control systems. WeaponWatch’s user interface delivers detailed visual and aural information with man-in-the-loop engagement control. |
A Brief History. WeaponWatch grew out of Radiance Technologies’ support of the .S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT) Small Tactical Arms Recognition Equipment (STARE) risk reduction effort. Based on significant program successes, United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) chose Radiance as prime contractor for their four-year Overwatch ACTD. Soon after, the U.S. Army’s Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) selected Radiance to lead their Weapons Surveillance System (WSS) spiral development program.
