Work Performed:
Radiance is providing enhanced Integrated Air Defense System (IADS) simulation and analysis support. The scope of this task is to provide NASIC with technical support to enhance existing IADS modeling and simulation tools, object models, and analytical models. All the development tools and models supplied by Radiance are compatible with the Flexible Analysis Modeling and Exercise System (FLAMES) environment. FLAMES is a NASIC/ADIM standardized, rigorous, structured framework for developing simulations and interfaces between constructive, virtual, and live simulations. Radiance is developing and implementing both radar and Command, Control, and Communication (C3) models and algorithms in this environment for specified IADS elements. A brief summary of Radiance on-going task efforts includes the following:
- Develop and verify identified C3 algorithms
- Create plug-in architecture for structured framework
- Evaluate pros and cons of implementing C3 algorithms in MathWorks – Stateflow
- Upgrade radar model to support weapon assignment algorithms
- Integrate and test the plot association, track correlation, and other C3 algorithm
Functional Area Lead:
Mr. Robert Case, Senior Engineer for Enhanced IADS Simulation & Analysis, has a Masters Degree in Operations Research with over 20 years of experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis support. He is currently integrating improved target tracking algorithms implemented in the C programming language into an integrated air defense simulation. He also integrated the radar imaging and tracking software subsystems of the Distributed Imaging Radar Technology program.
