Contract Number: GS-23F-0147L/N61331-05-F-1502
Government Organization Supported: Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Panama City
Primary Work Location: Panama City, Florida – Zone 4
Work Performed:
Radiance is providing Research and Development support in the area of Communications Engineering for the Deployable Joint Command and Control (DJC2) System. The objective of this task is to provide NSWC with technical support during the research and development phase of the DJC2 product life cycle. Radiance is responsible for leading the development of an Internet Protocol Convergence system for wide area communications for DJC2. Following a long established path in the commercial world, DJC2 will migrate into an environment of Voice of Internet Protocol and fully converged satellite links versus the legacy circuit switched technologies (IP Convergence). The goal is to provide the same or enhanced capabilities with a smaller subset of equipment.
As a result of the need to reduce the large number of personnel that must be deployed with the DJC2 system, Radiance developed a state-of-the-art remote telemetry system for DJC2. Radiance designed the system based on experimentation and subsystem requirements and developed the schedule to integrate the components in the spiral development cycle.
Functional Area Lead:
Mr. Tosh Persons, Director of Panama City Operations, holds a BS in Information Technology and has over 15 years of experience. He has participated in the design and integration of DJC2 in the areas as Information Technology, Local and Wide area communications, Voice communications, Radio Interconnection technologies, Information Assurance and associated system maintenance. Mr. Persons is a voting member of the DJC2 System Configuration Control Board and routinely communicates with DJC2 customers and various stakeholders.
