BATON ROUGE, LA (88ABW-2019-4126) – Radiance Technologies will conduct a two-year, $7M, Research and Development (R&D) Task under the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Agile Cyber Technology 2 (ACT 2) contract. The effort is to establish an Internet of Things (IoT) Security Testbed and Laboratory with Louisiana State University (LSU) and Stephenson’s Technology Corporation (STC). Radiance and STC will be working to increase the security of the embedded systems and sensors comprising IoT devices in the DoD supply chain for AFRL.

The enabling hardware of IoT devices does not lend itself towards traditional cyber vulnerability assessment (i.e. network security-based) approaches due to the heterogeneous architectures and communication with cloud-based computing and data infrastructure, this effort will further research in this area

“This effort builds on Radiance’s long-term relationship with LSU and STC and will provide additional capabilities to the Cyber Solutions Group and Radiance,” says Dr. Heath Berry, Vice President in the Cyber Solutions Group and lead for the IoT Security Task for Radiance. “Radiance is growing our footprint in Louisiana with new office space and laboratory capabilities which will support our research with AFRL and the DoD through the continued development of Advanced Cyber Technologies.”

The IoT Security effort falls under Radiance’s recent $100M Cyber Platform and Capabilities (CPAC) award under AFRL’s ACT 2 contract. ACT 2 is a five-year, $950M, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract vehicle to research, develop, and integrate cyber solutions to address emerging requirements for the Air Force and its mission partners.
